Artemesia I Commander Guide: Skills, Talent Build Builds 2020



Artemisia is an Archer, Garrison, and Defense Commander who deals massive AoE damage in a forward-facing fan-shaped area up to 3 targets. Despite being an archer commander, she is fairly tanky thanks to her 2nd skill “Bow and Mount“. Unlike other commanders who deal damage to enemies and debuff enemies, Artemisia deals damage to herself, buffs the enemy’s skill damage and silences herself.


Fearless in speaking her mind and brave in battles, Artemisia was a queen of an ancient Greek city-state of Halicarnassus, which at that time belonged to the empire of the Persian Achaemenids. Fighting as an ally of Xerxes I, she distinguished herself as a brave warrior, who earned the respect of the King of Persia for her commanding and tactical abilities. This is the warrior Queen of Caria – Artemisia I.


Battle of Salamis
Active Skill
Rage Requirement: 1000
Deals damage to own troops (Damage Factor 300), and deals damage to up to 3 enemies in a forward-facing fan-shaped area.
Upgrade Preview:
Direct Damage Factor: 800 / 1000 / 1200 / 1500 / 1800
Bow and Mount
Passive Skill
Increases archer units’ defense and health.
Upgrade Preview:
Archer Defense Bonus: 5% / 8% / 11% / 15% / 20%
Archer Health Bonus: 5% / 8% / 11% / 15% / 20%
Ally of Xerxes
Passive Skill
While serving as a garrison commander, reduces incoming normal attack damage, and each normal attack has a 10% chance to Disarm the targer (disabling heir normal attacks), lasts 1 second.
Upgrade Preview:
Normal Attack Damage Reduction: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%
Queen of Caria
Passive Skill
When rage accumulates to 80%, there is a 50% chance to silence yourself for 3 seconds, but increase all damage dealt for 5 seconds.
Upgrade Preview:
Damage Increase: 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% / 50%
Rules of Survival
Expertise:Passive Skill
Normal attack have a 10% chance to cause the target to continuously take damage (Damage Factor 400) each second, but also increases their skill damage by 15%, lasts 3 seconds.

Open Field

Artemesia talent 1

This build adds some survivability in the open field. Medicinal Supplies and Loose Formation are the two most important Talents you should use on Artemesia. This is because whenever she uses “Battle of Salamis” she will damage herself (Damage Factor 300), Medicinal Supplies will negate that. Skill damage taken reduction from Loose Formation has good synergy with both “Battle of Salamis” and her expertise “Rules of Survival“.

Garrison vs Attila and Takeda

The main difference between this build and Open Field build is that, we eliminate march speed talent, and try to go for raw stats. Skill Damage reduction talents are not required against Attila and Takeda and they deal only Normal and Counter Attack damage.

Note: There are better alternatives when it comes to defending against Skill Damage based rallies. Constantine, Wu Zetian, and Charles Martel are the best when it comes to that.
