Frederick I, also known as Frederick Barbarossa, was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1155 until his death. Historians consider him among the Holy Roman Empire’s greatest medieval emperors.
He combined qualities that made him appear almost superhuman to his contemporaries: his ambition, his skills at organization, his battlefield acumen and his political perspicuity.
Among his contribution to Central European society and culture include the re-establishment of the Corpus Juris Civilis, or the Roman rule of law, which counterbalanced the papal power that dominated the German states since the conclusion of the Investiture Controversy.
Frederick died in 1190 in Asia Minor while leading an army in the Third Crusade.
Fredrick is a Legendary Commander in Rise of Kingdoms, he specializes in Leadership, Conquering and Skill. Freddy is a 1st Generation Commander and like most other 1st Generation, he doesn’t scale very well towards the late game. He shined mostly during Season 1 of KvK where we had very limited options when it came to Commander. Nowadays, Fredrick isn’t worth investing in, specially if you are F2P/low spender and approaching Season 2 of KvK.

For the next 3 seconds, all attacks have a 80% chance to deal additional damage to the target.
Direct Damage Factor: 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 / 800
This is Fredrick’s primary damage skill, it deals a total of 2400 damage factor. If it were to proc for all 3 turns it’s one of the highest single target nuke but if it doesn’t it’s a pretty underwhelming skill.
Never Give Up
|Troops’ normal attack has a 10% chance to heal a portion of the slightly wounded units. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.|
Healing Factor: 500 / 600 / 700 / 800 / 1000
This is another one of Fredrick’s skill that doesn’t scale. Most new commanders have two or more utility/stats packed into one Skill. Healing factor itself isn’t the problem but the 5 sec cooldown and his lack of defensive stats is what makes this skill underwhelming

Damage Bonus: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%
This skill only works against Cities and not on all Garrison like flags, passes, and holy sites, which is why it loses it’s value in the late game as you’ll rarely find someone attacking cities. It’s not just Fredrick’s problem, most 1st Generation commanders have his problem. But even if Lilith were to make his skill available for all Garrison there are alternatives that perform way better than Fredrick does.

Troop Capacity Bonus: 3% / 6% / 9% / 12% / 15%
In the early game Troop Capacity plays a big role, in the late game however stats are more important. It’s still a useful skill in game modes like Sunset Canyon and Lost Canyon but that’s all there is to it.
|For the next 3 seconds, all attacks have a 100% chance to deal additional damage (Damage Factor 800) to the target.|
What a waste of an Expertise, all it does is make Fredrick’s proc chance go up to 100% from 80%. Lilith should make his Barbarossa 100% even without the expertise and change Freddy’s expertise to something of value like 30% to 40% stat increase, whenever his heal Never Give Up procs.
In most cases you’d want to use Fredrick as secondary but if your are in a situation where you are using him with another Leadership Commander than Fredrick can serve as Primary as well.
Fredrick works really well when paired with his fellow Conquering Commanders or with Commanders that deals high skill damage. These are some of the best Commanders that you can pair Fredrick with.
