Rise of Kingdoms – Equipment Guide
Ever since their introduction, Equipment has proved to be essential in battles.
When crafting equipment, always take into account the time it takes to build a piece of equipment and the stats that you get from it. It’s important that you get all the essential equipment for all 5 five of your available marches first. Then and only then start working towards the premium Legendary/Epic equipment. At the same time, you craft a piece of Legendary equipment, you can craft multiple lower-tier pieces of equipment, which in most cases provide you better stats than the one Legendary equipment that you crafted.
Overview of The Equipment System

Unlocked at: City Hall Lv.16
Blacksmith Building allows you can forge/ dismantle equipment and craft/upgrade or dismantle materials that are used to forge equipment.
Materials
- The Blacksmith allows you to produce 10 Materials every 3 hours.
- You can have up to 5 Materials in the Production Queue. These materials once crafted need to be claimed manually.
- There are currently 4 different Material types: Ebony, Iron Ore, Leather, and Animal Bone.
- Materials have five quality: Normal, Advanced, Elite, Epic, and Legendary.
- Four materials of the same quality and type can be combined to produce one material of higher quality. One higher quality material can be dismantled to produce 4 lower-quality materials of the same type.
Blueprints & Forging
- 30 blueprint fragments can be combined to make one complete blueprint.
- If you have the necessary materials, you can combine them with the blueprint to forge a piece of equipment.
- Blueprints are consumed on use, so dismantling a piece of equipment won’t refund you the Blueprint used.
- When forging equipment, there’s a chance to apply a buff to a talent of your choice. This buff will provide a 30% boost to the equipment’s attributes when a commander with the selected talent uses the equipment.
- Dismantling equipment will refund you the Materials used to forge that equipment, however, in case of Legendary equipment, only 50% of the materials used are refunded to you.
We saw the Equipment system go through a major revamp in Update 1.0.37: “Geared Up” and the introduction of new items. In this guide, we’ll go through the updated Equipment System and look into all the available equipment for each troop type.
What’s Changed
Before we dive into the new equipment, let’s take a look at what changes were introduced.
Materials: Instead of 7 Materials, we now have 4 Materials. Lilith also adjusted the number of Materials required to forge certain Equipment.
![]() Ebony | ![]() Iron Ore | ![]() Leather | ![]() Animal Bone |
Equipment: Certain Equipment got significant buffs which makes them viable again and this opens up opportunities for more equipment combinations. I am excluding Siege only equipment and Siege stats as they provide no value whatsoever.

That was my initial reaction to “What’s New”. These are the new equipment that were introduced as part of the latest update. In the table below, you can find the new equipment and other relevant information. Once again, I am excluding Siege only Equipment from this list.

Recommended Equipment
Before we explore the best available equipment, let me just say that if you’re a Free to Play or Low Spender, stick with Epic equipment, do not go for Legendary equipment. Not only they are insanely expensive but you don’t get full materials refund when you dismantle them. Right now, the best Legendary equipment are the Legendary Sets for each troop type but we all know that the OP Level 50 Equipment are lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right time to be released. So, don’t bother, let the big guys enjoy those stats.
Archer Equipment
Slot > | Weapon | Helm | Chest | Gloves | Legs | Boots |
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Archer Stats | Defense +8% | Defense +4% | Health +6% | Attack +4% | Defense +6% | Attack +2.5% |
Total Defense: 18%
Total Health: 6%
Total Attack: 6.5%
This is one of the best starter equipment build out there and the reason behind that is the high amount of defensive stats that you can get from it from a minimal amount of materials. I’ll admit that Defense isn’t the best stat that you can get for Archers but, the high defense will allow you to stay longer in fights, this isn’t that helpful if you’re using a DPS commander like Yi Seong-Gye, Kusonoki or Edward as you want more damage to go with them but if you’re using a utility commander like say, El Cid (even at 5-1-1-1) or Hermann, this build will allow you to debuff your enemies for a longer period of time, allowing your Alliance mates or your other better marches to deal significant damage to the enemy before your march goes down. Another reason for using this build is that the blueprints for these equipment as abundant, meaning you can continue to reroll till u get the Archer Talent buff for 30% extra stats. Eventually, you will want to transition to the build below.
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Archer Stats | Defense+13% | Defense +7.5% | Attack +7.5% | Attack +4.5% | Defense +7.5% | Health 5.5% |
Total Defense: 28%
Total Health: 5.5%
Total Attack: 12%
Revival Set Bonus:
- Troop Attack +3%
- Troop Defense +3%
Since Lilith introduced multiple ways to obtain Revival Set, it won’t be hard to get your hands on one of these unlike before. On top of all that, materials are easy to get now, so there is no reason not to build it when you’re transitioning into the late game. Remember to dismantle your previous set of equipment to get the materials back and use them on this set of equipment.
Cavalry
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Cavalry Stats | Defense +5% Health +4% | Attack +4.5% Speed +3% | Defense +4.5% Speed +3% | Health +2.5% Speed +3% | Attack +4% Health +1% | Health 2.5% Speed +3% |
Total Defense: 9.5%
Total Health: 9%
Total Attack: 8.5%
Total March Speed: 12%
Set Bonus:
Attack: 4%
March Speed: 4%
This build not only provides the best stats for Cavalry early on but it also adds a good amount of march speed. This set is suitable for PvP early on but it also transitions into an equally good build for PvE in the late game, like long-distance fort rallies for example. Once you have enough materials for the next tier of equipment, dismantle these and forge the ones below.
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Cavalry Stats | Defense +13% | Attack +8% | Defense +8% | Attack +3% Health +3% | Health +8% | Attack +5.5% |
Total Defense: 21%
Total Health: 11%
Total Attack: 16.5%
Infantry
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Infantry Stats | Health +8% | Attack +4.5% Speed +3% | Defense +4.5% Speed +3% | Attack +4% Health +1% | Attack +6% | Health +4% |
Total Defense: 4.5%
Total Health: 13%
Total Attack: 14.5%
Total March Speed: 6%
Set Bonus:
Attack: 2%
Not a big fan of this build but the lack of alternatives makes it the only usable starter build for Infantry. This would be a perfect build if it traded attack for more defense but it is what it is.
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Infantry Stats | Attack +13% | Attack +8% | Attack +8% | Defense +5.5% | Health +8% | Defense +5.5% |
Total Defense: 11%
Total Health: 8%
Total Attack: 29%
The same problem as before and the trend continues to the Legendary set as well. The only benefit of having more attack than defense and health is that Cavalry can’t ignore Infantry in the open field.
This is a bonus, Legendary Infantry set “Eternal Empire” for Garrison is inferior compared to the regular non-set Legendary but you still want to mix and match to get the most out of it.
Equipment | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Infantry Stats | Attack +20% | Defense +11% | Defense +12% | Defense +8% | Defense +12% | Defense +8% |
Total Defense: 51%
Total Attack: 20%
Set Bonus:
– Troop Defense: +3%
The best part about choosing this build is that these equipment provide more stats for the other troop type than the Eternal Empire set. So, if you were to use Yi Sun-Shin or Theodora with Mixed Troops to defend then this will give you better value than the Empire set.
Conclusion
It’s too early to tell how these changes will impact the game. If you’re worried about big players running after you with maxed Legendary, then don’t be. It’ll take a while even for them to fully max them out.
This is a rather long post, and if you made it this far then I hope that it was helpful to you. That’s it for this guide. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or hit me up on Reddit.
